countdown

19 minutes till the work day is through. Quiet, still, peaceful day. A few good sales to ring the till and make the bankers and accountants and taxman happy. I've swept the floor, reaaranged stock and made a timely addition to my window display. I've a sad sense of humor so until I'm scolded a black and white pig standing next to a few packs of tissues which read 'bless you' on them stand boldly on a pink bench. My nod to swine flu.

Ok it let me, so I will try what I was saying before. Funny! And, what is your opinion of the whole situation--is it a bit overexaggerated so that the government can sweep in and save us (more control), or are we on the brink of health disaster?

nah, we're not on the brink of disaster with this one. But the government certainly could use it to pass sweeping health reform so they don't waste a "good crisis".
I think this one could mutate in the next year or two and come back with a vengeance, but I keep thinking SARS, Avian Flu, and there was a third I'm blanking on, They all get blown our of proportion and nothing comes of it. History points to the fact that cyclically we are overdo for a pandemic or something horrid. Doesn't it all come back to simply being prepared so we can deal with closures or whatever if they were to happen? I think it's very funny that the government tried to stop folks from calling it swine flu the other day and wants everyone to call it H1N1 now. Please! How could I decorate a shop window around that!
